A dream 4 years in the making...

I first dreamt up the idea of doing a Taylor Swift podcast ranking her music back in 2021. The idea was born out my compulsive need to have everything organized in neat lists, and the grueling Swiftie right-of-passage of narrowing down my favorite Taylor Swift songs. It proved to be an impossible task. I started noticing how my 'top songs' ranking was ever-changing depending on my mood. Feeling flirty and in love? I'm blasting "I think he knows." In need of a good cry? Turn off the lights and sob to "All Too Well." Pre-gaming before going out with my girlfriends? Hey Siri, play "22."

That's when I realized, I don't need to have an ultimate list of Taylor's best tracks. I can love each song equally if I find it the right home. And so the concept of different rankings was born. Why the Top 13? Well, it's Taylor Swift's favorite number and this is a Taylor Swift podcast after all. Besides, Tay's Top Thirteen has a nice ring to it - don't you think?

Starting August 25, 2025 , I'll release one episode per week with a new ranking - based entirely on arbitrary criteria created by me - a longtime Swiftie with a passion for list-making.
